Valentina A. Mmaka is a writer, educator and activist. Raised between cultures and languages she doesn't find comfortable with the notion of "roots" associated with a geographical space, finding more empowering the idea of carrying roots within herself wherever she goes. This vision allows her to make impact through her versatile portfolio of work. She has published eleven books and worked as a school facilitator within educational multicultural programs. She has more than 20 years of experience working with marginalized communities across the world using Art for social change and making impact. In her expertise she has worked with refugees, prisoners, people with disability and mental health conditions, FGM/GBV survivors of all ages and backgrounds. ART WORK Karina Puente is an architect and urbanist based in Lima, Peru, who has worked on plans for the Lima of the future, Inspired by the book Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino, she started a huge project illustrating Calvino's 55 cities. The Artworks of this website are part of the Project. .
